Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 22, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to Bill Align ("we," "our," or "us"), a product of PiNation Tech Inc., incorporated in Ontario, Canada. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application (the "App").
The short version: Your financial data (bills, income, debts, balances) never leaves your device. The only data transmitted externally is subscription-related information processed by RevenueCat to manage your subscription status (see Section 7). We do not collect, transmit, store, or sell your personal or financial information.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By downloading and using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
All financial information in the App is entered by you and stored exclusively on your device. We do not automatically collect any personal or financial data. However, our subscription management service (RevenueCat) automatically collects limited subscription-related data as described in Section 2.3. Below is a description of the data the App handles:
2.1 Financial Data
- Income sources - names, amounts, frequency, and next expected dates
- Bills and expenses - names, amounts, statement dates, due dates, payment frequency, grace periods, and bill type (fixed or flexible)
- Debts - account names, balances, interest rates, minimum payment types, payment amounts, and grace periods
- Current account balance - used to calculate your payment schedule
2.2 Calculated & Derived Data
- Payment schedules and payment windows
- Monthly income and expense summaries
- Debt payoff projections and monthly minimums
- Payment assignment history (paid/unpaid status)
2.3 Subscription Data
If you subscribe to Bill Align, we use a third-party service called RevenueCat to manage your subscription. RevenueCat collects subscription-related data including purchase history and device identifiers to verify and manage your premium subscription status. See Section 7 for full details.
2.4 App Preferences & Settings
- Analysis period preference (number of months to plan ahead)
- Notification preferences (enabled or disabled)
- Biometric authentication preference
- App tutorial completion status
3. How We Store Your Information
All data is stored locally on your device using a secure local database. Specifically:
- Your financial data is written to a local database file on your device
- Your app preferences and biometric authentication setting are stored in your device's local secure storage
- No data is uploaded to any server, cloud service, or external system at any time
- No data is backed up to the cloud by our App - your device's own backup service (such as iCloud or Google Backup) may back up your device data independently, which is controlled by your device settings, not by us
4. How We Use Your Information
The information you enter is used solely to provide the App's core features:
- Payment schedule optimization - calculating when to pay your bills based on your income, balances, and due dates
- Cash flow forecasting - projecting your financial picture over your selected analysis period
- Debt payoff planning - estimating minimum payments and payoff timelines
- Local notifications - reminding you of upcoming payment windows or monthly plan reviews
- Biometric authentication - protecting access to the App on your device
We do not use your information for advertising, marketing, research, or any purpose beyond delivering the App's features to you.
5. User Responsibility for Data Accuracy
Since all data in the App is entered manually by you, you are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of the information you provide. Bill Align does not verify, validate, or cross-check your entered data against any external source.
The payment schedules, cash flow projections, and debt estimates generated by the App are only as accurate as the data you enter. We strongly encourage you to keep your information up to date to ensure the most useful results.
6. Information We Do NOT Collect
We want to be transparent about what we do not do:
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any contact information
- We do not connect to your bank accounts or financial institutions
- We do not collect your Social Security Number, Social Insurance Number, account numbers, or card numbers
- We do not use analytics tools (no Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar), except as described in Section 7 regarding subscription management
- We do not use crash reporting or performance monitoring services (no Sentry, Firebase Crashlytics, or similar)
- We do not serve advertisements or use advertising SDKs
- We do not track your location
- We do not access your contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or calendar
- We do not create user accounts or require login credentials
- We do not collect device identifiers or advertising IDs, except as described in Section 7 regarding subscription management through RevenueCat
7. Third-Party Services
All payment scheduling, cash flow forecasting, and debt optimization are powered by our proprietary algorithm, which runs entirely on your device. No part of this process involves external servers or third-party data processors.
However, Bill Align uses RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions and purchases. RevenueCat may collect:
- Purchase history - subscription status and transaction records
- Device identifiers - used to verify your subscription entitlement
- App interaction data - related to the purchase and subscription flow
This data is processed by RevenueCat on their servers to manage your subscription status. We do not have access to your payment details (credit card numbers, billing address) — those are handled exclusively by Google Play or Apple App Store.
For more information, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy: revenuecat.com/privacy
Apart from RevenueCat, there are no other analytics providers, advertising networks, crash reporting services, or external APIs connected to the App.
8. App Store Platforms
Bill Align is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. When you download, install, or use the App through these platforms, Apple Inc. and Google LLC may independently collect certain information about you and your device in accordance with their own privacy policies. This collection is outside our control and is not covered by this Privacy Policy.
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these platforms:
- Apple Privacy Policy: apple.com/legal/privacy
- Google Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy
9. Local Notifications
If you enable notifications, the App schedules local notifications on your device to remind you about:
- Payment window reminders - alerts when a payment window is approaching, showing the number of bills and total amount due
- Monthly reminders - a reminder on the 1st of each month to review and update your payment plan
These notifications are generated and scheduled entirely on your device, are not sent from any external server, and are fully optional. You can disable notifications at any time from the App's Settings or from your device's notification settings.
10. Biometric Authentication
The App offers optional biometric authentication (Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint, or device passcode) to protect access to your financial data. If you enable this feature:
- Biometric verification is performed entirely by your device's operating system
- We never receive, store, or transmit your biometric data
- Your biometric information (fingerprint, face data) never leaves your device and is never accessible to the App or to us
- Your preference for this setting (enabled or disabled) is stored locally on your device
11. Data Security
Because all your data stays on your device, the security of your information depends primarily on the security of your device. We recommend:
- Setting a screen lock or passcode on your device
- Enabling the App's biometric authentication feature in Settings
- Keeping your device's operating system up to date
- Using your device's built-in encryption (enabled by default on modern iOS and Android devices)
While we design the App with security in mind, no system is completely immune to risk. In the unlikely event of a security incident that affects your data, we will notify affected users promptly and take appropriate remedial action, as required by applicable law.
12. Data Deletion
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you are in complete control:
- Delete specific data - You can delete individual income sources, bills, or debts directly within the App at any time
- Delete all data - Uninstalling the App from your device permanently deletes all App data, including your financial information, settings, and payment history
- Clear app data - On Android, you can clear all App data via your device's Settings > Apps > Bill Align > Clear Data
Because we do not store your data on any server, there is no data held by us to delete.
13. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Because the App does not collect any personal information from anyone, no special collection risk exists. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has entered financial information into the App, you can remove it by deleting the relevant entries within the App or uninstalling the App entirely.
14. Your Privacy Rights
14.1 For All Users
Because we do not collect or store your data on any external system, the following rights are inherently satisfied:
- Right to Access - your data is on your device, always accessible to you

We confirm for all U.S. residents:
- We do not sell your personal information

- Right to Access & Correction - your data is always accessible to you directly within the App. You can view and edit any entry at any time without needing to contact us
- Right to Erasure - you can delete individual entries within the App or uninstall the App to erase all data. Because we hold nothing on our servers, there is no data for us to erase on our end
- Right to Portability - because your data lives entirely on your device, it is already in your possession and under your full control
- Right to Lodge a Complaint - you may file a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe we have not handled your data in accordance with applicable law
14.4 For Canadian Residents (PIPEDA)
We comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws across Canada, including Quebec's Law 25, Alberta's PIPA, and British Columbia's PIPA. - Right to Access - all your data is on your device and visible within the App at all times
- Right to Correction - you can edit any entry directly within the App
- Right to Withdraw Consent - you may stop using the App and uninstall it at any time, which removes all data from your device
- Right to Lodge a Complaint - you may file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you believe your privacy rights have not been respected
14.5 For Australian Residents
We comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Because all data is stored locally on your device and we hold no personal information on our servers, Australian residents can exercise their rights to access and correct their information directly within the App at any time without needing to contact us. If you believe we have not complied with the APPs, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

Our App or website may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these external sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party websites you visit.
18. Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that signals to websites that you do not want your online activity tracked. Our website does not currently respond to DNT signals, but we do not track your activity across other websites. The App itself does not perform any tracking.
19. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under or in connection with this Privacy Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, Canada.
This does not limit your rights under the privacy laws of your own jurisdiction where those laws provide stronger protections.
20. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or other factors - including the introduction of new App features such as cloud sync, user accounts, or other capabilities that may change how data is handled. When we make changes, we will:
